Workshops

Within the framework of our project we organise one workshop every year.

The workshops focussed on one specific topic serve to discuss collectively the methodology of a history of "utility" films. A special focus during these workshops lies on the screening of the cinematographic source material. Archives and institutions for the preservation of these films as well as the rightholders are invited to these scientific meetings to discuss the practice of preservation and collection.

  • {2015} Le film inédit, l’historien et le public. Utility film and amateur films in the Upper Rhine InterReg. 28-29 May 2015
  • {2014} Information, persuasion, propaganda. The medical and public health film as a mode of communication between science, medicine, public and society in France, 1900-1960. 20-21 June 2014.
